UCHC Horse Rescue Demo          07-August-2010

Wow, if you missed it, here are some of the photos of the round pen demo sponsored by the UC Horse Council, rescue horse ( pony named Cody) provided by the Equine Rescue Resource, and the clinician, Julie Robins, who donated her time, for the demo (plus an hour of training for Cody with the winning application).  The first hour of the demo was being video taped, and hopefully when it's all finished, we will get a copy of this and have this placed on our website, along with an update clip with the  winning adoption owner with Cody in a months time.  If you go on NYSHC face book, Shannon Budnik, you will see even more action pictures. 

The demo ring was in a great location, and even better weather this year.  Lots of interest for the NYS Horse Council, Equine Rescue Resource, and Julie Robins training methods.  Even better news, there are competing adoption applications for the pony, Cody.  He is a beautiful animal with lots of promise, given the right home.

Our thanks go out to Julie Robins for her donation of her time, Colleen Segarra with the Equine Rescue Resource for providing Cody, Shannon Budnik, Mid Hudson Regional Director with NYSHC, for her time for transporting the pony, Carol Fitzpatrick President of the UCHC for providing the round pen (was up at 6:30 am setting up the pen/and before my coffee), the UC Fair Horse Booth for the announcing the clinics (Jenny Lang, Carla Picayo, and the whole crew), and our gratitude to the UC Ag Society for their support  and the great location for the Rescue Horse Project during the UC Fair 2010.  What a great day.  Many fair goers asked for more days, and more segments throughout the day.

     We want to also thank Chip Watson "Cowgirl Chip", for allowing us to promote the event on

   " Horse Talk"  WTBQ Radio Station on July 31, 2010.  The show time was from 8 am to 9

     pm.  Thanks so much again.

We will be considering having the ring available for multiple trainers, with a rescue horse used.   We have already scheduled the Saturday August 7^th, 2011, but if you know of a trainer/clinician who would be interested in donating their time for Sunday, August 8^th, 2011, please have them contact the UCHC for consideration.  This is all donated time with the theme of using a rescue horse for exposure, and adoption.
